One to three weeks for most homes. A single-story ranch with clean sheathing underneath might wrap in under a week. Two stories, a lot of windows, or significant substrate repair will push that timeline out.
Material choice is the biggest lever — vinyl versus fiber cement versus longboard aluminum will swing the total significantly. After that, it’s square footage, number of stories, window and door trim count, and what’s hiding under your current siding. Old material disposal and insulation upgrades add to the number too.
Fiber cement is hard to beat for durability and fire resistance. Vinyl costs the least and never needs painting. Engineered wood gives you a real-wood look without cedar’s rot problems.
