Siding Installation Service Overview

Rainwood is a residential siding installation company, and that focus matters — commercial and residential are different animals. We install vinyl, fiber cement (Hardie board), engineered wood, longboard aluminum, and cedar. We don’t push one product over another. Each has a place depending on your budget, your home’s exposure, and how much maintenance you’re willing to do down the road. Our siding installation contractors work across the greater Seattle metro on everything from post-war bungalows to new-build custom homes.

Siding Installation Cost and Investment

Nobody likes vague pricing, so here’s how it actually breaks down. Material is the biggest variable — vinyl sits at the low end, fiber cement and engineered wood land in the middle, and longboard siding installation cost runs higher because the aluminum panel system demands precision fabrication and concealed fastening. Beyond material, cost scales with wall area, story count, window and door density, and how much remediation your substrate needs once the old siding comes off. For what it’s worth, siding replacement consistently lands in the top tier for exterior ROI — most markets see 60–80% cost recovery at resale. Reach out for a free estimate — no pressure, just numbers you can plan around.

OUR SIDING INSTALLATION SERVICES

Hanging panels is maybe 40% of the actual job. The rest is everything nobody wants to talk about at the bid stage. Here's the full scope of our siding installation service.

Siding Installation & Replacement

Strip the old material, check what's underneath, fix what needs fixing, then build back up — sheathing, barrier, trim, panels, flashing, sealant. Full home siding installation from substrate to finish, done in the right order.

Siding Repair

When full replacement isn't justified, we do targeted siding repair and installation work — storm damage, localized rot, sections where a previous crew did something questionable. Fix what's broken, keep the rest working.

SeWeather Barrier & Insulation

House wrap goes on before any siding, full stop. Lapped correctly, taped at seams and around every penetration. On jobs where energy performance matters, we add rigid foam over sheathing before the wrap. This layer is the difference between siding that lasts 30 years and siding that rots from behind in 8.

Trim, Fascia & Soffit

Complete your siding project with matching trim work. We repair and replace fascia, soffit, and decorative trim — all coordinated with the siding material so the exterior reads as one finished surface.

Maintenance & Re-Caulking

Re-caulking seams, checking fasteners, dealing with paint fade on wood products. The goal is keeping what you've got working until it actually makes sense to replace, not upselling you into a project you don't need yet.
Note: Rainwood also handles roofing and siding installation together when both systems need attention at the same time. Contact us to discuss.

COMMON PROBLEMS WE FIX

These are the signs that usually mean it's time to call a siding installation contractor.

Soft or rotting boards
Cracks, warping, buckling
Peeling paint, swelling
Moisture around windows and doors
Mold/mildew streaking
Siding flagged in a home inspection
High-maintenance old siding

Why Choose Rainwood?

Plenty of trades tolerate mediocre installation. Siding isn’t one of them. When cladding goes on correctly, it keeps water out, tightens your thermal envelope, and makes the house look the way you want. Get it wrong and you’re dealing with hidden moisture that eats framing for years. Manufacturers like James Hardie require certified contractor installation — without that credential, the warranty doesn’t apply. Rainwood backs both the product and the workmanship.

  • Careful inspection and honest recommendations — repair vs. replace
  • Weather-tight detailing built for Washington rain
  • Certified installation that keeps manufacturer warranties intact
  • Itemized estimates — materials, labor, disposal, no mystery line items
  • Jobsite cleanliness and respect for your property

We had an excellent experience with them on our sunroom project. The quality of the work was outstanding, they were easy to work with, and they clearly explained each step, the schedule, and key decisions (with various options to help us understand cost) along the way. Communication was solid from start to finish, and the final result looks great. Highly recommend, they are my new go to recommendation when friends ask.

Rainwood construction completed 2 projects in my home recently. The first, which was to add a bar in my family room, which when completed fit so well that it looked like it always belonged there. It came out exactly how we wanted it and we love it. The second project was to completely remodel and modernize my 1955 original kitchen. The kitchen turned out fantastic! It’s light and bright with clean lines exactly how we had envisioned it. The team was polite, competent, hard working and always cleaned up after themselves at the end of the day. They always made sure to ask how I wanted things done when there were options, making suggestions where needed and made sure I was happy with the completion of items along the way. I was very pleased with the quality of the work, plan to use them again in the future and have already recommended them!

We just remodelled the entire main floor of our house; the scope included changing floors, installing new cabinets including a drop ceiling, added a custom entertainment wall, and fully upgraded the powder room, among other work such as electrical upgrades including an EV plug. We are overall very happy with the work that the team has done, satisfied with the cost, and definitely recommend them to others.
