Interior Wall Painting Services

Most wall painting failures come down to one decision: whether to actually fix what’s on the surface before painting over it. Nail pops that get a swipe of spackle and a coat of paint – they’ll show again in six months when the drywall moves with the seasons. Hairline cracks at window corners that get painted over – they’ll reopen, usually wider, within a year. Glossy existing paint that doesn’t get scuffed before the new coat goes on — the adhesion is marginal from day one.

Wall painting looks straightforward. Roll on color, cut in the edges, done. The part that determines whether it holds and looks right five years later – that’s the preparation, and it’s the part that gets compressed when someone’s trying to hit a low price or a fast timeline.

We don’t compress it.

Interior Wall Painting Service Overview

Interior walls aren’t a uniform surface. Even in the same room, you’re often dealing with multiple conditions at once: a patched area where a picture hook pulled drywall paper, a corner that’s been repainted four times and is starting to build texture, a band near the baseboard where the previous painter missed with the primer, and a large flat expanse in the middle that’s in perfect condition. Each of those areas needs something slightly different – and treating them all the same is how you end up with a result that looks inconsistent under natural light.

Sheen selection matters more than most people realize going in. Flat paint hides surface imperfections well but marks and scuffs easily – right for low-traffic rooms with imperfect walls. Eggshell is the workhorse for most living spaces: cleanable, forgiving on texture, not too reflective. Satin in high-traffic areas and anywhere that gets wiped down regularly. Semi-gloss on trim, doors, and any surface that takes direct contact. Specify the wrong sheen for the context and the paint performs correctly but the room feels wrong.

We assess the walls first. The color conversation comes second.

Our Interior Wall Painting Services

From full replacements to targeted repairs, we provide comprehensive exterior solutions for homeowners across the Greater Seattle area.

Full Room Wall Painting

Complete repaint of all wall surfaces in a room. Includes surface inspection, repair, spot priming, and two topcoats in the specified finish. Trim masking and furniture protection included – we move what needs moving and protect what stays

Large Wall Painting

Open-plan spaces, great rooms, and feature walls with significant square footage have their own workflow challenges. Maintaining a wet edge across a 20-foot wall without stopping requires either a two-person crew or specific staging. We plan the application sequence before we start so lap lines aren't a possibility, not an afterthought.

Accent and Feature Wall Painting

A single wall in a contrasting color, a limewash finish, a geometric pattern – these require more precise masking and often more coats than a standard repaint. Dark colors over light substrates can need three coats to fully hide the transition at the edges. We account for that in the quote.

Surface Repair and Patch Painting

Nail pops, stress cracks at window and door corners, damaged drywall paper from picture hooks or furniture, water damage repair – we fix it properly before painting. That means the right compound, proper feathering, sanding level, and spot prime before topcoat. Painting over repairs without priming them causes flashing, where the repair reads as a dull patch under raking light.

New Construction Wall Finishing

Raw drywall needs PVA primer before any wall paint goes on, same as ceilings. It seals the paper and compound at different absorption rates so the topcoat lays down evenly. We also skim-coat over any fastener dimples or butt joints that weren't finished to level 4 or 5 before we paint.

Color Consultation

If you're changing the color of a room or the whole house and the combination isn't obvious, we can walk through it. Sometimes that's a ten-minute conversation with a fan deck. Sometimes it means pulling sample pots for a weekend to see the color in the actual light of the room before committing.

Why Hire a Professional Wall Painting Service

The argument for professional wall painting isn’t that it’s technically impossible to do yourself – it isn’t. It’s that the prep work is tedious, physically demanding, and easy to rationalize skipping when you’re four hours into what you thought was a weekend project. The actual painting is the satisfying part. The compound work, the sanding, the spot priming, the caulking – that’s where the result gets determined, and it’s the part that’s hard to stay motivated through on a Saturday afternoon.

We’ve also fixed enough DIY paint jobs – and enough bad professional ones – to know exactly what gets skipped under time pressure. Nail pops get a dab of spackle instead of proper fastener repair. Repairs don’t get primed. Caulk at the trim doesn’t get replaced, just painted over. The room looks fine for a few months. Then it doesn’t.

We hired Rainwood Construction LLC to replace our French doors, and the result was outstanding. We knew going in this was more involved than a standard swap — we switched from inward to outward swinging doors, requiring extra attention to framing, flashing, and weatherproofing to keep everything sealed against water intrusion.Anatoliy was our point of contact and led the project from before to after, making sure the swing change and weatherproofing were planned and executed correctly. Igor and Vitaly handled the on-site installation and did excellent, high-quality work. The whole team was on time, professional, and delivered top-notch results. Can’t recommend them highly enough. 5 stars!

Every member of this crew I've had the pleasure of coming in contact with has been professional, excellent in their skillset, and fast. Pricing was reasonable for the excellent job they did.Last year we hired Rainwood to do plumbing and painting for a job. Both crews did such a great job, were thorough, and the level of detail was fantastic! We liked them so much we recently hired them for a quick job (installing ceiling fans). We messaged on a Wednesday and the job was done by Friday. Will absolutely hire Rainwood again and again for every job we do for our home.

We had a very good experience with Rainwood Construction LLC and Toli during my brother’s home construction project in Shoreline. The team was professional, communicative, and paid close attention to detail throughout the process. We were especially happy with the quality of the fittings and finishing work, which turned out really well. The project was handled smoothly, and the overall workmanship met our expectations. Would definitely recommend them to others looking for reliable construction services.

We had an excellent experience with them on our sunroom project. The quality of the work was outstanding, they were easy to work with, and they clearly explained each step, the schedule, and key decisions (with various options to help us understand cost) along the way. Communication was solid from start to finish, and the final result looks great. Highly recommend, they are my new go to recommendation when friends ask.

    Our Process

From first contact to final walkthrough, we make siding projects straightforward and stress-free.

    On-Site Assessment

We walk the room and look at the actual surface condition — not a description of it, the surface itself. Nail pops, cracks, damaged drywall paper, failing caulk, sheen inconsistencies from previous repairs. That determines the prep sequence and the correct primer specification.

    Itemized Estimate

Repair labor, primer type, topcoat coats, trim masking. Line by line. You see what the number is made of before anything starts.

    Surface Preparation

Fastener repair, crack repair, drywall paper repair, caulking at trim. Sanding existing paint where adhesion is in question. Spot priming all repairs. This takes as long as it takes – we don't compress it to hit a time budget.

    Priming

PVA primer on new drywall, bonding primer on glossy or chalky existing paint, gray-tinted primer for significant color changes, stain-blocking primer where there's contamination. The primer gets specified for the surface, not picked off a shelf for convenience.

    FAQ

A standard room runs $300 to $800 depending on size, ceiling height, and surface condition. The biggest variable after square footage is how much repair work the walls need before paint. A room in good condition with sound existing paint is a straightforward repaint. A room with multiple nail pops, stress cracks, and a previous paint job in poor condition takes significantly more prep time – and that labor shows up in the quote, correctly.
